<p>Puma and I had an amazing interview with Dr Vernon Woolf last week. His message for us was both inspirational and sobering. On the inspirational side, he told us that the timing of One Spirit Weekend is vital. We need leaders in their chosen field of expertise to step forward now more than ever. On the sobering side, he said that the time to take physical action is rapidly ticking down. Based upon all of the scientific data which he has available to him; the human race has as little as 2 years and perhaps as much as 25 years to change the WAY we are interacting with one another and this earth. I believe we are all sharing his sense of urgency. As a species we have been ignoring all of the warning signals so long that the world is literally on the brink of destruction. This is a pivotal point in our collective human consciousness.</p>
<p>Whether you believe personally you can make a difference to reverse this situation or you believe there is nothing you can do; you are right!</p>
<p>When I asked Dr. Woolf how to know what information is the right information, he said that the scientific information available regarding the physical status of our planet is undeniable. There are vested individuals who would rather we did not have all the facts. It is vital to carefully examine the source of any information you hear or read.</p>
<p>For 30 years Dr. Woolf has been teaching people how to utilize consciousness in order to &#8220;act responsibly&#8221; this is why we are so excited to have Dr. Woolf presenting our keynote address at One Spirit Weekend! He is at the forefront of changing physical reality. Not simply talking about it or theorizing about what could be done, he has been actively doing it! For 9 years Dr. Woolf worked with the Russian people as they transitioned from communism into a functional social and economic system. <p>Shilajit is one of the oldest and most powerful superfoods that will help strengthen and energize you.  In order to lead effectively and efficiently you will need nourishment that supports you in the execution of your dreams and daily life.  Here is an interesting story I would love to share with you about Shilajit.</p>
<p>70 million years ago the majestic Himalayas began forming when tectonic activity pushed the island of India into Asia. Ancient jungle and the sea floor between the two land masses became compressed into the mountain range. Within the mountain for millions of years, this organic material has reverted back to its pure mineral state. Shilajit is exuded from fissures between 9,000 ft to 13,000 ft as a black gooey substance. It contains over 85 organic minerals, including high amounts of fulvic acid, which our bodies need for optimal functioning. Yogis have been preparing it for oral consumption for thousands of years. It is considered a true panacea in Ayurveda. It is a wonderful adaptogen, strengthening our body’s response to stress. From experience, this is actually a food, since most of our produce, including organic, contains between 3-7 minerals.</p>
<p>The organic compounds in Shilajit nourish our cells deeply, providing the conductivity necessary for life. It rebuilds and fortifies stressed nerves, and increases immune system growth.  Shilajit detoxifies the brain and all major organs, especially the kidneys and liver. It increases physical power (jing). It increases endurance excellently. I have a friend who paddles his surf board to Catalina Island, a distance of almost 30 miles, and he drinks Shilajit in water the whole way. <p>The word vegetarian has only recently become more of a mainstream word. Vegetarian food is just beginning to be offered in restaurants as main entrees and now you can even find a few vegetarian restaurants in a city.  Then, the word and concept of veganism started circulating; and now Raw Foods. What happened to the traditional meat &amp; potatoes diet? When I told people that I was a Raw Food Vegan it was a far off concept for people to grasp but one that is so cutting edge people couldn’t help but to be very curious about it.</p>
<p>The Raw Food movement has exploded in the last 10 years drawing hundreds of thousands of people all over the world into its magic. Have you noticed that everything seems to be moving at a much faster pace? Well with this faster pace, we need the fuel to help us move faster to keep up with everything that’s happening! The meat &amp; potatoes diet just isn’t going to make the final cut for the Super Hero diet. Have you ever noticed that when we need new tools to continue our evolutionary process, they seem to appear; like the computer and internet? It’s no coincidence that Super Foods are hitting the market now, to fuel us to handle the fast paced transformational times we are currently experiencing.</p>

<p>Today with all our technology, we have the ability to have access to the world’s best foods. Wouldn’t it make sense to make a smoothie everyday that contains 2 or more superfoods in it? Considering the fact that one superfood smoothie would probably contain more nutrients and minerals in it than 2 days worth of the standard American meal, isn’t it a no-brainer! For us here at One Spirit Weekend headquarters it is a daily regimen.</p>
<p>We are living in a time when we need all the ammo we can get, in the smallest package possible, to fuel us to be the Super Hero Leaders that we are. Here is a basic recipe for a superfood smoothie. From this recipe you can add more fruit or nut butters such as raw almond, cashew or pecan butter.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Protein Power Punched Superfood Smoothie</span></strong></p>
<p>2 cups water or coconut water + meat</p>
<p>2 Tbsp. coconut butter</p>
<p>¼ cup hemp seeds</p>
<p>2 Tbsp. cacao powder</p>
<p>1 Tbsp. Maca</p>
<p>1 Tbsp. Spirulina</p>
<p>3 Tbsp. Aloe Vera Juice</p>
<p>3 Tbsp. Raw Honey, Yacon or Jerusalem Artichoke syrup.</p>
<p>¼ c. goji berries or ½ c. Blueberries or any other kind of berry.</p>
<p>Pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt</p>
<p>Place all the ingredients in a blender. Taste and drink!</p>

<p>Today’s leaders need quick nutrition as well as detoxification. This is why my favorite superfood is the single-celled algae Chlorella.</p>
<p>Chlorella is the world’s greenest food, with more chlorophyll than any other plant or algae on the planet! It has 10 times more chlorophyll than alfalfa, barley grass, or spirulina. As our environment becomes increasingly contaminated, so does our food supply. Even organic produce is not free from pollutants. Chlorella to the rescue! Chlorophyll is an excellent detoxifier and blood cleanser. But the real cleansing key lies within chlorella’s fiber. Chlorella contains a high concentration of a unique fiber that pulls toxins from our cells and safely removes them from our bodies. This is what makes chlorella an excellent chelator for heavy metals and chemicals of all kinds. It is this special fiber that also promotes balanced, healthy bowel movements.</p>
<p>How do you use Chlorella? It is a wonderful addition to salads. I put it in my raw taco mix. I love drinking a glass of this gorgeous emerald green nectar. Due to increased urbanization and pollution, it is essential to move our bodies to fresh, clean air often and to breathe deeply.  Depending on the plant life, presence of water, elevation, season and temperature, the variety of fresh air experiences are certainly diverse and abundant.  The crisp winter morning air, a tropical salty ocean breeze, a dense pine forest or the wildflower desert of Sedona in spring time will invigorate the soul with a delicious treat for your lungs and entire body to enjoy.</p>
<p>Directing the quality of one’s breath is acknowledged as a pathway to inner peace and awakening by many cultures.  The yogis have identified various breathing techniques to elicit a wide range of beneficial effects on the body, mind and spirit such as clarity, relaxation, vitality, longevity, and balance.</p>
<p><strong>FIRE</strong> warms the heart and soul and brings light to darkness.  When the sun rises each day, it brings a reminder of new beginnings, hope and rebirth.  At sunset, the sun teaches us to let go and surrender as a unique multicolored portrait unveils itself and then merges with the night sky.  The practice of sun gazing, when done properly, is a powerful rejuvenating experience for the entire body while simultaneously realigning the Divine Sacred Heart within.</p>

<p>In sacred ceremony, Mother Earth is honored, blessed, and thanked for all that she gives.  Take off your shoes more often and feel her belly beneath your feet.  Let the soil, rocks, sand, or grass tickle your toes.  Close your eyes and feel her strong, loving and consistent source of support and nourishment. Smell her flowers.  Enjoy the shade of her trees.  Listen to the songs of the joyful birds.  Watch the butterflies as they dance blissfully by.</p>

<p>As we become more independent in early adulthood we begin to take much more responsibility for ourselves. </p>
<p>When we are finally “released upon the world” as Independent beings, we are responsible for “taking care” of ourselves. At some point along the way, however, the Standard American relinquishes their self care &#8211; their personal responsibility for taking proper care of themselves &#8211; and hands it over to Americas “Health Care” system.  This system is mostly designed to deal with disease &amp; sickness after it occurs as well as emergency medical needs. It is not a system for disease prevention or for providing tools &amp; techniques for empowering the people to care for themselves.  Healthy lifestyle choices and patterns that will assist in providing a truly healthy life path must be made by an individual.</p>
<p>So I ask you, are you part of the health care system, or are you ready to take a leadership role in your life and properly provide Self Care? Are you making the conscious effort to learn about what you are putting in your body? Are you aware that what you eat, drink and breathe has a direct effect on your health? Do you believe that you are what you eat?</p>
<p>With awareness you begin to see the connection of eating live nutritious foods to living a healthy vibrant  life. The Standard American Diet (SAD) consisting of processed, over cooked, mineral deficient non-organic food creates the perfect opportunity for a multitude of diseases to occur. When the body has been filled with these substances over a period of time and is then experiencing some form of disease the norm has been to take pharmaceutical drugs to eliminate the side effects of that disease. Our “health care” system has taken on this role of dispensing out “drugs” which generally only address the side effects of poor lifestyle choices. </p>
<p>Do you think it is possible to maintain a sustainable healthy life depending on drugs and medications? We are incredibly fortunate to be living in a time of such abundant resources and information at our fingertips. We have the opportunity to have all the information we need to begin making the right decisions, to become a leader in our own life. With increased awareness of how to properly take care of our health and the abundance of healthy foods, supplements &amp; superfoods we have access to living vibrantly healthy!</p>
<p>Now is the time to educate ones-self on the multitude of options for self care. In every community there are people gathering for events, workshops, conferences, festivals and retreats to learn about healing, wellness, meditation, mind &amp; body connection, yoga, spirituality and much more.  During these transformational times we must Self educate in order to learn the tools and techniques to become an awakened leader and be responsible for the health of our mind, body &amp; spirit.</p>
<p>Focusing on and learning about the food and water one consumes is a great starting point. Being surrounded by community members who are also practicing self care helps to reinforce the shift into new patterns.    Believe &amp; know that you have the ability to choose what kind of care you deserve to be the awakened leader that you are!</p>

<p>Are you experiencing the physical and financial effects of Chronic Degenerative diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or arthritis? Are you paying too much in insurance premiums, or can’t get insurance because of pre-existing chronic degenerative diseases? Did you know that by shifting a few things in your diet you can have the power to correct many chronic degenerative diseases and be on the path to true health?</p>
<p>For years I have heard many people say that they can only afford to eat a diet of pizza, soda pop, frozen dinners and fast food meals. What a lot of people are unaware of, or have chosen not to listen to, is the fact that this type of diet leads to many health problems including chronic degenerative diseases. When one puts junky food into their body they will in turn have a junky body. This will cause insurance companies to either not want to insure the “junky” person or charge them high premiums. The great thing about this is that YOU have the power to change this. You can lead your life into health and be a leader in your health care plan.</p>
<p>The first step is to realize that you have the power to change your health. Yes, you are a manifestor of your own destiny. You create the outcome of your health. Once you take responsibility for your health instead of being a puppet of the Standard American Diet (SAD) you will have created the foundation for being a true leader in your life.</p>
<p>The second step is to create a mindset that is sustainable for you to shift your eating habits. The most successful mindset to a healthy diet is by saying YES to food instead of saying NO to food. The key is to focus on what you can ADD into your diet everyday that is healthy instead of what you have to Subtract from your diet. By continuing to eat more healthy food you will begin to create less space for that which no longer serves you; unhealthy food. </p>
<p>The third step is to start flooding your body with healthy life enhancing foods. The key to eating healthy everyday is to stay prepared and plan ahead so you have healthy options all the time.  These are the first 3 things to start flooding your body with:</p>
<p>1. Fresh organic raw vegetables &amp; fruit. Make salads everyday with salad dressing made from a base of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, flax seed oil or hemp seed oil and apple cider vinegar.<br />
2.  Super foods such as gogi berries, cacao, maca and spirulina. A great way to eat your superfoods is to blend them in a smoothie with your fruit<br />
3. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha &amp; kefir.</p>
<p>If you focus on these 3 food groups you will have a really good start at beginning to supply your body with the nutrition for maintaining good health.  Beginning to eat this way will open the door for you to start experiencing a true shift in your health, thereby reducing the need for expensive health insurance.</p>
